Speaking to our audiences

Messaging to use when speaking to supporters

For individual supporters (including volunteers, event participants, etc):

Support young people aged 11-30 facing hardship to gain skills for employment. Our courses are delivered in schools, colleges, or by our staff, aiding those in disadvantaged communities. We aim for at least 75% of youth to secure positive outcomes like jobs or education.

The transition to adulthood is frightening, especially for disadvantaged youth, worsened by the pandemic. Financial hardship limits life chances, affecting wellbeing and job prospects. Long-term unemployment harms mental health and future earnings.

We target inequality by helping more from disadvantaged backgrounds, ethnic minorities, and young women. Donations sustain our work in uncertain fundraising times. Since 1976, over 1,000,000 youths benefited. Your contribution, big or small, changes lives.

Your donation could be a turning point for a young life, supporting our teams aiding youth across the UK.

Volunteers and event participants, your support changes lives too:

Your support could be the turning point for young lives.

You could give a young person the chance they deserve.

Your help changes a young person’s life.
